I’m very excited to be bringing in the new year with this talented crew at ATA – one of the few longstanding and persevering artist-run spaces in San Francisco. The show features talented friends including a collaboration between the wizard drone synthesist Sarah Davachi and mesmerizing filmographer Paul Clipson, and the fantastic instrument-builders Ashley Bellouin & Ben Bracken, back in the Bay after several months of world-wide artist residencies. I’ll be performing my new work Recognition: For Prepared Piano, Sine Waves, and Macro-Cymatic Instrument, with live video of my macro-cymatic instrument! This is the second performance of this piece that I developed at the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts residency last November.
